Kláði (‘Itch’) is a collection of short stories by the Icelandic writer Fríða Ísberg. The hand-lettering suggests human intervention, as though the illustration beneath is vandalised. This urgent but casual act of self-expression hints at the stories’ concern with identity and existential angst. The Icelandic national newspaper Fréttablaðið placed this cover in the top three book designs of 2018.
