Svanafólkið (Swanfolk) is the story of a government spy, Elísabet, who discovers a secret society of swan-human hyrbid creatures inhabiting the lake at the edge of her city. This discovery causes Elísabet to question her grip on reality, and ultimately it sends her life spiralling out of control. Svanafólkið is a novel about identity, so for the cover we went with an uninhabited trench coat, the kind Elizabeth is described as wearing, with a hint of swaniness in the decorative feather. The dark, snowy backdrop evokes the wintry evenings on which the story unfolds.
